ROFFER'S OCEAN FISHING FORECASTING SERVICE, INC. We were able to see this area clearly today and see that the cooler (72°F-74°F) water remains offshore since it was pushed there over the last two days by the winds. The boundary zone between this cooler water and the offshore warmer (78°F) water provides good conditions for fish to concentrate and for fishing action to improve. We are uncertain whether the 20 fathom lumps east of Townsends Inlet will be more productive than the 20 fathom ledges east of Ocean City, MD as both areas have not experienced favorable conditions for a few days. East of Townsends Inlet your chances for fishing action will be good particularly near 73°55’W & 38°55’N where a favorable water mass boundary has existed for the last four days. Good chances for action also occur near 74°00’W & 38°53’N and 74°00’W & 39°02’N. Offshore we have seen favorable, yet different conditions over the northern 30 fathom curve of the Lobster Claw (73°37’W & 38°51’N) for the last four days suggesting that the Lobster Claw area provides good chances for fishing action. Similar conditions (favorable, yet different) have been seen for five days over the 30 fathom ledges near 73°42’W & 38°39’N which also suggests that good chances for fishing action is occuring. While it is uncertain as to which of these areas will provide the best chances, you should certainly try 73°55’W & 38°55’N if you choose to go further offshore. East of Ocean City, MD your chances for fishing action with tuna and perhaps marlin are good over the 20 fathom ledges near 74°28’W & 38°17’N which is approximately half water between the Massey’s Canyon and the Tiger Paw. Favorable conditions have existed there for the last three days. Further north the 20 fathom lump near 74°17’W & 38°30’N is also likely to provide some fishing action, as is the 20 fathom ledge near 74°22’W & 38°37’N near the Jacob Jones Stern wreck remnants. Closer to Cape May there is likely to be shark action near 74°27-30’W & 38°53-51’N along this cooler water mass boundary. There may also be some tuna action there as well. Please call as soon as possible for your next trip including the Mid-Atlantic 500. Every fishing trip is important to have that additional advantage that ROFFS™ provides.
