| COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT ROFFS© | |||
| What are the 20 factors used in each analysis? | |||
| Contrary to popular opinion, sea surface temperature is only one of several important factors in locating fish. More important is water motion, water mass stability, as well as, the shape and orientation of local currents. Other important factors include, but are not limited to: water color, location of eddies, history of the ocean fronts, bottom topography, biological quality of the water, forage preference of the target species, availability of the forage, habitat preference of the forage and target species, lunar cycle, local & regional weather conditions, local catch reports and on-site fishing reports. We integrate and interpret these conditions for each analysis. We produce fish forecasting analyses, not simple sea surface temperature maps or colorized satellite images! | |||
| When do you update the fishing analyses? | |||
| We combine the ocean data with daily catch reports and normally provide our fishing forecasting analysis the evening before you leave the dock. For each analysis we study the fishing and oceanographic trends over the latest 24 hour period, and compare the results to the conditions during the previous 48 hours, 72 hours, and 96 hours (at least). Our fishing forecasts will put you as close to the fish as possible, the next morning. The key is understanding how the anticipated changes in the ocean conditions will affect the fishing. We are experts at this. | |||
| How can we know what's happening locally over so many areas? | |||
| Everyday our clients talk with us and we receive numerous catch reports. They understand that the more information we have, the more accurate their analysis is. We often receive calls from fishermen, via cellular phone, satellite telephone, or the marine operator, while they are offshore. In the U.S. our toll free phone number allows our clients to call us from just about anywhere to give and receive a fishing report. We also receive fishing reports from our reliable clients via email (fish@roffs.com). | |||
| How long are the analyses good for? | |||
| The precision and accuracy of our analyses are maintained for 24 hours. We do not guess and offer a money back guarantee for analyses used within 24 hours. Our reputation and your fishing success are at stake. You donšt make financial investments based on old or incomplete stock quotes. So why would you invest your time and money fishing without the most comprehensive information available? You should use every advantage you can. | |||
| Can I get a free update when I am fishing? | |||
| Yes, you can reach us through your cellular phone, satellite communications, or the marine operator. We will provide you with the most updated information possible, free of charge verbally if you purchased an analysis for that day. We enjoy talking with you offshore. | |||
| How and when do we receive the analyses ? What about color analyses on the internet? | |||
| We will send the latest update to any fax machine, computer based fax, or email address the afternoon or evening before you leave the dock. Color analyses are available on the internet (www.roffs.com) via email. ROFFS© understands the meaning of the word "service" and provides that extra special treatment you deserve. Call us toll free (800 677-7633) to order a current fishing analysis and you will speak to a person, not a machine. Sometimes, it seems like we never leave the office. You can also schedule your analysis by email or fax. | |||
| Who uses ROFFS©? | |||
| People who are serious about wanting to find fish without wandering blindly over the ocean. Our clients include people who fish once a week or less, as well as, people who fish every day | |||
