Roffer's Ocean Fishing Forecasting Service, Inc. (ROFFSTM) finds fish (tuna, marlin, dolphin, swordfish, shark, kingfish, wahoo, squid, sardine, anchovy, pilchard, etc.) using satellite derived environmental data (water temperature, water color, currents, ocean fronts, etc.) on a daily basis and transmitts Fishing Oceanographic Analyses to their clients who are involved in recreational (sport fishing) and commercial fishing.
Founded by Dr. Mitchell A. Roffer (Ph.D.), who has been providing intelligent tools and services for the fishing community since 1976, ROFFSTM provides daily road maps to the fish. Our expertise is combining fisheries oceanography and real-time satellite remote sensing to produce tactical and strategic fisheries forecasts. |

| Here's a excerpt from our analysis of that image: "Cape Hatteras: We observed the ocean conditions clearly again today. The main body of the Gulf Stream has an early morning estimated sst of 77.2°F and there is 76.0°F-76.5°F water on both sides of the main current. Apparently the marlin stayed with the bait (squid), which stayed over the 50-75 fathom depths near 75°40'W & 34°40-43'N today as good action was reported. Some of the marlin also moved with the eddy as reports of marlin were received as far north as 75°20'W & 34°55'N. The eddy appears to have separated into two cooler water features. One appears over 30-35 fathoms near 75°25'W & 34°58'N. The other, poorly defined feature, seems to be near 75°25°-30'W & 34°48'N as this is where there is a curve in the western boundary of the Gulf Stream. We expect that the fishing action will remain centered near 75°40'W & 34°40-43'N, but secondary action is likely from 75°25'W & 34°50'N to at least 75°15'W & 35°05'N over 50-100 fathom depths. Further north excellent conditions for a concentration of fish continue to be observed (four consecutive days) from 75°00'W & 35°15'N to the Point (74°45'W & 35°30'N). This is a 63°F-76°-77°F ocean frontal zone. Even as these eddies move northward, we expect the tuna action to continue as the action has been good the last three days." |
