Happy New Year and a 2020 Recapitulation

Happy New Year and a 2020 Recapitulation

WOW what an unprecedented year we all went through. Reflecting back on 2020, despite the rollercoaster of circumstances and adversity, we at ROFFS™ were blessed to have another successful year. We owe our success to our loyal and dedicated clients, partners, staff and friends. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for all your support and business and for fishing during 2020 we could not have gotten through without you. We HOPE that 2021 is safer, healthier and prosperous for everyone. Despite the challenges we faced in 2020, there were a lot of good things that transpired. Many of the tournaments had record numbers and many of our clients had record years and catches. See evidence of this on our website 2020 tournament winners list (https://roffs.com/tournament-winners/) where again our clients won a combined millions of dollars in tournament prize money and experienced priceless memories. In addition, we appreciate all our clients’ feedback and photos during the year and get gratification from your stories and how ROFFS™ assisted in your successful fishing trips, so please keep them coming in 2021. We continue to pride ourselves on customer interaction and relationships that sets us apart.

2020 Highlights include:

      1. New and exciting partnership with Fathom Science integrating their impressive cloud-free SST and Ocean Color/Chlorophyll data into our daily analysis for an improved fishing forecasting product. No more Cloud Notes!
      2. Continued partnership with mazu and their improved sport fishing app (https://www.mazu-marine.com/sportfishing/) making our hot spot locations georeferenced, and our analysis more accessible on iPads.
      3. We redesigned our newsletter and partnered with BDC Group and Coastal Carolina Fisherman e-Magazine.
      4. Were present at the White Marlin Open
      5. Added the Bermuda offshore fishing analysis for the month of July.
      6. Improved our offshore rig monitoring analysis with improved products (https://roffs.com/oil-gas/).
      7. Working on a new integrated database system where clients will all have their own online accounts and credit system and new ways to receive and access our analyses. Stay tuned for announcements and instructions for the 2021 fishing season.
      8. Learning to efficiently work remotely and improved virtual communications.

We also want to take this opportunity and thank our advertisers and partners who have contributed to ROFFS™ success in 2020 and hopefully continue to do so in 2021. These include Dr. Matt Oliver and Matt Shatley from the University of Delaware for satellite imagery support, to our advertisers South Jersey Yacht Sales, Gentilini Motors and Chip Berry at Maps Unique. We continue to remain involved in the oil and gas offshore rig monitoring and ship routing services and thank our partners DTN and schaudt.us for another good year as we look to expand in 2021. We want to give special thanks to South Jersey Tournaments for a valuable partnership and support in 2020 and beyond. Special thanks also to new and renewed friendships and support from Fly Navarro (check out his new book Best Catch 2020), Lenny Strobel of Reel Time USA, Dr. Jim Franks from the University of Southern Mississippi, Dr. John Graves from Virginia Institute of Marine Science, Dr. Walt Golet from the University of Maine and The Billfish Foundation.

We are proud to continue to remain proactive in the research and science community to advance and keep up-to-date with fisheries oceanography, climate change impacts and satellite remote sensing technology to give our clients the advantage with near real time ocean conditions. We continue to be active and supportive with NASA, NOAA, and specifically within the Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS) community, and remain members with the regional associations SECOORA, and MARACOOS. We have our fingers crossed that our white marlin tagging programs get funded for 2021- 2026. We also remain on the board with the Florida Ocean Alliance (FOA) and were proud to help draft and submit to Florida Legislature the Securing Florida’s Blue Economy: Strategic Policy Plan for Florida’s Oceans and Coasts. We also remain a supportive participant with the Saltwater Sportsman Magazine National Seminar Series and thank George Poveromo for his continued support.

Our early 2021 travel and seminars/shows remain limited and up-in-the-air, but PLEASE keep track at our Instagram and Facebook platforms @roffsfishing, website (www.roffs.com), and News Reel newsletter for announcements. There is a chance we may be involved with a few virtual series’ this winter and spring so please stay tuned.

As we finally put 2020 in the rear view mirror, we already have 2021 plans for new projects, chart improvements, to hire a new analyst, incorporate newer satellite data from NASA, NOAA and ESA to improve our spatial and temporal coverage keeping us a step ahead of our competitors, and add new partners for networking. We take pleasure in providing you with the most comprehensive real time analysis of the ocean conditions to improve your fishing/working environment and efficiency. Please contact us if you have any inquiries as we value your comments.

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and look forward to a peaceful and healthy 2021. Thank you again for all your support.
